The MCID-Omicron event, "The SARS-CoV-2 variant Omicron: a snapshot of where we are", took place on 8th December 2021.
The event was organized in response to the appearance of the SARS-CoV-2 variant Omicron and the rising levels of concern in the Swiss public sphere following confirmed reports of variant Omicron infections in several regions of the country.
Eight experts based at the University of Bern/Inselspital and associated institutes presented and discussed topics including the detection, spread, characteristics and impact of variant Omicron. Questions from the audience were addressed in a moderated “Townhall” panel session including all experts.
